The European marketing industry is full of extraordinary talent. It is also full of noise, self-promotion, and manufactured credibility. We built this list to cut through both.
Silent Sources is an anonymous collective of marketing professionals based across Europe. We have worked in agencies, in-house teams, startups, and consultancies. Between us, we have seen what genuine marketing excellence looks like — and we have seen how rarely it gets recognised.
We choose to remain anonymous because we believe the list should speak for itself. Our credibility comes from the quality of the profiles we select, not from our own names or affiliations. We have no commercial relationships with any of the individuals featured. We do not charge for inclusion. We do not accept sponsored profiles.
We built this site because the European marketing industry deserves a resource that is genuinely independent — not a pay-to-play directory, not a PR exercise, and not a list that rewards the loudest voices rather than the most effective practitioners.
Our selection process is deliberately qualitative. We do not rank by follower count, revenue, or awards. We ask a simpler question: has this person demonstrably helped businesses grow? And has their thinking contributed something of genuine value to the broader marketing conversation?
We look for practitioners who have built real things — campaigns that moved the needle, frameworks that other marketers actually use, businesses that grew because of their direct involvement. We are sceptical of credentials and impressed by results.
We also deliberately seek geographic breadth. The best marketing talent in Europe is not concentrated in London or Amsterdam. It is in Aarhus, Tallinn, Ljubljana, Budapest, and dozens of other cities that rarely appear in the industry's self-congratulatory coverage. This list tries to reflect that reality.
We review and update the list annually. Profiles are added when we identify practitioners whose work merits inclusion. Profiles are occasionally removed when the evidence of continued excellence is no longer compelling.
We welcome submissions from the community. If you know a European marketer whose results speak for themselves, use the form on the main page to tell us about them. We review every submission, though we cannot guarantee inclusion or respond to every message.
